Fast Cap

Protect your lens with a lens cap that you cannot loose.  Use the Fast Cap.  It screws onto the front of your lens so it never comes off.  Flips out of the way when your using the camera, snaps closed to protect you lens and filter.  Filter must be installed first, and it is likely to vignette at focal lengths less than 45mm.

The Filter Cap is the same idea, except it is held in place you your protective filter.  The filter cap is not as deep, and is is not on top of your filter so it is less likely to vignette as much at wide focal lengths.

Cokin Digital Filter Holder

Cokin Creative Digital Filter Holder. Designed to fit almost any compact digital camera. Holds up to
three "A" series Cokin filters.  Makes it easy to be more creative with your digital
photography by filtering the image before you take it.  Spend less time on the computer trying to create effects you can quickly and easily shoot!

Other Cokin Filters....       Are on the Way!

A filters are for lenses up to but NOT bigger than 62mm diameter.  P series is up to but not bigger than 82mm.  The filters are NOT interchangeable in the holders, purchased with adapter rings below.

Polarizer Filters

There are two common types of polarizer filters.  The Linear and the Circular.  The end results will look the same, but how the light is polarized is the difference.  Great variances in metering and exposure or the inability to focus in some situations can be traced to using a linear Polarizer on an auto focus camera.   The Circular Polarizer must be used with any auto focus camera, or any camera using a beam splitter for metering or focusing.  Some older cameras like the Canon FTb use the Circular Polarizer because of the beam splitter in the meter.  All new Canon, Pentax and Nikon auto focus cameras us the Circular Polarizer because of the beam splitter for focusing.  All other cameras can use the Linear polarizer.  If in doubt check your instruction manual to be sure.

Rings and Mounting

You must use this filter holder and adapter ring to attach the Coking filters to the lens.  Use the appropriate A or P size rings below to fit this holder to your lens.

Degrees Kelvin is a description of the color of light.  Daylight film is 5000K.  Actual day light will vary around that Kelvin temperature depending upon time of day, cloud cover and other conditions.  Tungsten light (because the filament is made of Tungsten metal) can vary from around 2800K for household lights, to 3400K so called amateur Tungsten, to 3200K Tungsten light.  There are no standard filters that will correct for 2800K lamps to daylight film.  You can use a 80B blue filter to correct 3400K lamps to daylight film.  An 80A will correct 3200K lamps to daylight film.  What if you have tungsten film you want to correct to daylight?  Use an 85 series filter to correct 3200K Tungsten film to daylight.
