Slik Tripods

SLIK has been in the business designing tripods for over 50 years now. Their goal: making the best tripods possible and at an easily affordable price. We feel that they have succeeded in doing so. The Slik U series tripods all have several things in common. They are all 3 section tripods designed for smaller video and 35mm still cameras. They all feature a quick release plate, are compact and light weight for easy carrying. Our very limited part list for the U8000 and U9000 is listed at the bottom of this page.

SLIK SDV-20 Tripod

Light weight with a 3-way pan head. Geared crank elevator knob allows more precise adjustments, especially in macro mode.

Slik Tripods

U5500: Similar looking to the U2000, only taller. Gearless center column for quick adjustments. Max ht: 57.2" Folded ht: 22.8" Wt: 2.2lbs.

U6600: Light weight with a 3-way pan head. Geared crank elevator knob allows more precise adjustments, especially in macro mode. Max ht: 57.2" Folded ht" 22.8" Wt: 2.4lbs.

U8000: Much like the U6600 Pictured above, but only taller. Features a 3-way pan head for photo and video. Max ht: 60" Folded height: 23.6" Wt: 3.3lbs. Replacement part listed below.

U9000: The same size and weight as the U8000 but Slik has added upper level tripod features like spiked feet retractable rubber feet and a bubble level. Geared crank elevator knob allows more precise adjustments, especially in macro mode. Max ht: 60" Folded: 23.6" Wt: 3.3lbs. Replacement part listed below.

Slik Parts

We don't stock a lot of these replacement parts at this time. This is the most common part for us to repair. This is the assembly that holds the quick release plate onto the U5500/6600 and the U8000/9000 tripods. Click on picture to enlarge to about life size. This is also called the flip plate, or vertical riser.

Slik Platform Bracket for Slik Compact XL Series

This part will fit the Slik Compact XL, 450G, 500G, 500GFL, 800G tripods without any modifications.

Slik Top Flip Plate for U212-DX

This is the replacement part that holds the quick release post and will flip from horizontal to vertical.
