What
is the largest size I can get from
my camera? |
|
Size is always
relative. You can have a low
quality file or low pixel count
camera make a large print, but the
results may not be pleasing.
The sizes listed below are for a
film quality print, more or less.
The next larger size would be
possible in many cases, IF you don't
mind a lack of sharpness or details,
or smooth lines. For the
largest print possible, use the
highest quality camera setting with
the least amount of compression.
Then the only real problem is the
"chip" size of your camera. For
example: |
| Camera "Chip" Size |
Final Print Size |
Storage capacity on
32MB memory Card |
| 1.0 Mega pixel camera |
4x6 size |
40-88 |
| 2.0 Mega pixel camera |
5x7 size |
32-64 |
| 3.0 Mega pixel camera |
8x10 size |
20-40 |
| 4.0 Mega pixel camera |
11x14 size |
10-32 |
| 5.0 Mega pixel camera |

| 6.0 Mega pixel camera |

| 8.0 Mega pixel camera |

Prints can be made in
just about any size you can crop or
combine together. For example:
Using a 6 Mp camera, you could shoot
4 verticals frames and make a 20x96
inch print. Or you can combine
10 , 20 or even 40 different
pictures onto one page and still
have n 8x10 print. It all
depends upon what your want.
Ask for details. |

Why aren't
my digital pictures 4x6 size?
We always print your
pictures full frame, unless cropping
is requested. Since there is a
difference in the aspect ratios from
digital cameras versus film camera
there are going to be different
sizes (see chart). If set your
camera for 35mm or 3:2 format, or if
you resize your digital prints to be
4x6 at 300DPI then there will never
be a problem. |
